It released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC more than a few months ago, but Outlast 2 has hit the Switch market – making for some brilliant scares on the go: just don’t scream out loud on the Tube, yeah?
If you aren’t too clued up on Red Barrels’ sequel to Outlast, then in a nutshell you will play as cameraman Blake Langermann alongside his wife, Lynn, as you investigate the mysterious murder of a pregnant woman. This mystery leads you all the way to the Arizona desert where you encounter a devilish corrupted and evil cult out to get you in the town of Temple’s Gate.
As you look through Langermann’s eyes, moving stealthily through the horrors found within the desert, the events you discover will drill deep down into the concept of the human mind and its secrets. Try not to go insane, but sometimes that may be the only thing you can do when fleeing the warped citizens of the area you find yourself in.
Similar to the original Outlast, your will have to rely on a camcorder with night-vision capabilities in order to see the enemies stalking you, biding your time and running when the time is right. But the camera has limited power, and soon enough you will be plunged into darkness: the last thing you want when you are surrounded by killers… the name of the game is to run and hide, but if you can’t see who you’re hanging from that might prove quite tricky!
If you fancy some horror action on Nintendo Switch, then pick up Outlast 2 for £26.99 now! The Outlast Bundle of Terror is available at £19.99 too
Game Description:
Outlast 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game Outlast. Set in the same universe as the first game, but with different characters and a different setting, Outlast 2 is a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets. Outlast 2 introduces you to Sullivan Knoth and his followers, who left our wicked world behind to give birth to Temple Gate, a town, deep in the wilderness and hidden from civilisation. Knoth and his flock are preparing for the tribulations of the end of times and you’re right in the thick of it. You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn. The two of you are investigative journalists willing to take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. You’re following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe. The investigation has lead you miles into the Arizona desert, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.
